Build a career with Swamp Fox.
Swamp Fox is a local, independent agency rooted in South Carolina. We’re looking for people who want to do honest work, build lasting relationships, and actually understand the coverage they sell.
Quick snapshot
Where you might fit in.
We hire for culture and capability. If you’re licensed, motivated, and genuinely want to help clients protect what matters, we’d like to hear from you.
Personal Lines Insurance Agent
Work directly with homeowners, auto, renters, and umbrella clients. You’ll quote, bind, and service policies across multiple carriers – giving clients real options rather than a single take-it-or-leave-it answer. P&C license required; experience with comparative rating tools preferred.
Commercial Lines Account Manager
Manage and grow a book of small-to-mid-size commercial accounts including BOP, general liability, commercial auto, and workers’ compensation. You’ll be the day-to-day contact for business clients, handling renewals, endorsements, and coverage reviews. P&C license required.
Forestry & Trucking Lines Specialist
This is a rare opportunity to build expertise in a genuinely specialized market. You’ll work with logging operations, timber haulers, and forestry contractors – risks that require a deeper understanding of operations than a standard commercial policy provides. Industry background or prior specialty lines experience strongly preferred.
Customer Service Representative
You’ll be the first voice clients hear – answering coverage questions, processing endorsements, supporting claims follow-up, and helping agents keep accounts running smoothly. A warm, clear communication style and attention to detail matter more here than years of experience. P&C license is a plus but not required to start.

If there’s a fit, someone from our team will reach out within a few business days for a short introductory call – usually 20-30 minutes.
We’ll cover your background, what you’re looking for, and give you a genuine picture of the role – not a polished sales pitch.
In-person meeting
Strong candidates come in to meet the team and talk through the position in more detail. This is as much for you as it is for us.

Common questions about working here
Do I need a P&C license to apply?
For most agent and account manager roles, a P&C license is required. For customer service positions, it’s a plus but not required to start – we can support you through the licensing process if there’s a strong mutual fit.
What states do you operate in?
Our team is based in South Carolina, and we serve clients across South Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. Some roles may require or benefit from licensure in multiple states.
What does the compensation structure look like?
Compensation varies by role. Most licensed producer positions include a base salary plus commission. Customer service and support roles are typically salaried. We discuss specifics openly during the interview process – no games.
Do you offer benefits?
Full-time positions include benefits. The specifics depend on the role and are discussed during the offer stage. We’re a small team, so we work to accommodate individual situations where possible.
I have no insurance experience. Should I still apply?
It depends on the role. For licensed agent positions, some prior experience in insurance or financial services is helpful. For customer service roles, strong communication skills and a willingness to learn matter more than a specific background. If you’re unsure, reach out and we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s worth pursuing.
What makes Swamp Fox different from a captive agency?
As an independent agency, we’re not tied to a single carrier. That means you get to actually shop the market for your clients and recommend what makes sense for their situation – rather than fitting everyone into the same product. It’s a fundamentally different kind of work, and most people who’ve tried both say they prefer it.
